The first of Cameron Mackintosh's large scale musicals. Adapted from Victor Hugo's novel, Les Misérables is the epic tale of a man's life journey through 19th century France and his struggle to live through the injustice and revolution of the time. |
The action begins in 1815 as Jean Valjean, a man condemned to 19 years of hard labor for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family, finds only hatred and suspicion when he is released on parole. Meeting one man who believes in him, Valjean breaks his parole to begin a new life. Jean Valjean crosses the landscape of early 19th century France, always pursued by the righteous police inspector Javert. |
The story of Les Misérables is one of love, courage and redemption. |

Chris's Pick?
Twelfth Night
A shipwreck. A woman disguised as a man to survive. A duke, hopelessly in love. A scheming steward to a lady of high society. Sounds like a soap opera? It’s not; it’s Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, the ultimate situation comedy. I love this play not only because I am an English major, but because it’s very, very funny.
The company presenting this play is the Aquila Theatre, who presented Othello last year and were fantastic! They use modern clothes, scenery and theatrical lighting to complement the beautiful words of Shakespeare.

A Celtic sensation comprised of nine brothers and sisters, this tremendously talented clan brings the stage alive. Mom and dad made sure all the kids knew how to fiddle and step-dance - not to mention how to sing and play a host of other instruments. A whirlwind of energy, the Canadian-born Leahys add country, folk and pop to their Irish roots. |

Fr-Su, Feb 11-13, 2005
"We've combined traditional and modern forms of dance to create a high octane blend with soulful beats and feet that move too fast to comprehend," says Michael Flatley of the show he created.
The action of this dramatic good vs. evil story, based on Irish lore, is played out on a grand scale with precision dancing, dramatic music, colorful costumes, state-of-art staging, lighting and pyrotechnics.
